Admission Policy

General and Non-Discriminatory

Admissions are open throughout the year. Students are admitted to their grades after evaluation by Head of the relevant Division.
ISA admits student of any race, gender or religion to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to its students and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions and programs.

Application and Supporting Documents

Students will not be admitted to classes without the proper age verification, previous school records (if needed), and immunization records.
The admission procedure is as follows:
Application from is to be filled in and signed by parents and submitted with $2,000 which is non-refundable. A completed application is required for each child.
The following completed forms are also required:
  • Student information
  • Health information
  • Tuition fees agreement
  • Code of conduct
Along with the application, the following documents are also required:
  • Birth certificate for each child
  • Previous school records: end of year academic record card
  • Up-to-date Immunization and/physical Health Examination Records.
  • Allergy and/or any medical condition
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • Any other information
Parents who need financial assistance are required to fill out the Financial Aid Request Form. The Board will decide whether you are eligible or not to receive any financial aid.

Pre K 2 years, 6-9 months
Nursery One 3 years, 6-9 months
Nursery Two 4 years, 6-9 months
Grade One 5 years, 6-9 months
Grade Two 6 years, 9 months
Grade Three 7 years, 9 months
Grade Four 8 years, 9 months
Grade Five 9 years, 9 months
Grade Six 10 years, 9 months
Grade Seven 11 –12 years
Grade Eight 12 – 13 years
Grade Nine 13 – 14 years
Grade Ten 14 – 15 years
Grade Eleven 15 – 16 years

Admission Policy

A Student/pupil may be admitted to ISA who:

  • Scores 60% or above in the Annual Average at the previous school attended
  • Pass a character verification interview
  • Is of the required age for the Grade in which he/she is seeking admission.
  • A Student/Pupil who do not meet the above criteria may be admitted based on the following provisions:
  • A Student/pupil who is above the required age for the grade may be admitted if he/she is older by less than one year of the required age. However, he/she will be subjected to the clause (for such) in the Promotion Policy.
  • A Student seeking admission in any Grade in ISA and whose score in the previous school is between 59-50% must write an entrance test (comprising Mathematics, Comprehension and Composition). Student must score 60% or above in the test, as well as, pass a character interview in order to be admitted.
  • A Student/pupil seeking admission in the Grade 7 must:
  • Score not less than 480 in the NGSA
  • Continuing students from ISA Primary who score below the minimum mark in NGSA for admission for ISA Secondary must score 70% or above in the Annual Average for the Grade 6
  • Continuing Students from ISA Primary who have not written the NGSA seeking Admission to ISA Secondary must be of the required age of the Grade 7 and must score 70% above in the Annual Average.
  • Students who score between 479 and 460 in the NGSA (20 marks below) and are seeking admission into ISA Secondary must write an Entrance Test and score 70% or above in the test before Admission can be effected.
  • Continuing Students from ISA Primary who score less than the minimum score for Admission in the NGSA and whose year average is below 70% must attend special remedial classes during the summer after which the student may be admitted based on conductors evaluation.
  • Parents of all students admitted to ISA must agree with and sign the behavioural and performance code of ISA before admission is effected.
  • A non-refundable entrance processing fee of Two Thousand Dollars ($2000) must be paid when admission is approved and before enrollment is effected.
  • For Students with recognizable learning difficulties, behavioural problems or physical deformities seeking admission to any Division of ISA an interview with the Parents must be held in order to determine whether the pupil/student should be admitted. As far as possible parents should be advised and given suggestions of possible alternatives if the pupil fail to satisfy our criteria for admission.

Placement Test

Each student, as well as the family, is unique. It is important for the school to know of any special needs or requirements in order to meet the needs of the children. Students may be required to take an admission or placement test. If needed, parents/guardians may also be requested to attend an interview to ascertain the background of the child.

Registration

Registration is conducted at the beginning of the term for both new and continuing students of grade 6 and Nursery. Advertisement will be done before the August break. Continuing students may be required to re-register for the new academic year. A registration fee is required at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable and covers the entire school life of the child at ISA.
